Maharat Road is a traditional road that has existed since the establishment of Rattanakosin.  It was originally a road beside the western palace wall.  It is a road that surrounds the palace as well as Na Phra Lan Road, Tai Wang Road and Sanam Chai Road.  It was originally a narrow corridor paved with large slabs of brick.  Later in the reign of King Chulalongkorn  To cut the road in such a line.  It is a road along the west wall of the Grand Palace.  Starting from the mouth of Khlong Talat, the confluence of 3 roads, namely Maharat Road, Rajini Road and Mahachai Road, was then given the name "Maharat Road".
